Defected Records is a British independent record label started in 1999 specialising in disco, house, soul, afro and commercial house music recordings and has a catalogue of approximately 15,000 master recordings released under its various imprints. Defected also has an affiliate publishing company (Defected Music Limited) which controls over 5,000 works and is therefore able to provide a one-stop shop for sync clearances in many cases.
