Steve Marshall is a songwriter, composer and producer who co-founded Pyramid Arts Development in Dalston, East London, and went on to set up production and performance company State of Emergency Limited. Notably, Steve performed with and later produced legendary Jamaican icon Lee “Scratch” Perry. Working with Lee led to recording projects with Keith Richards and George Clinton, and two Grammy Nominations. His latest production with Lee and Keith, a vinyl EP titled ‘Scratch’d’ was released via BMG in November 2023, and a new posthumous Lee Perry and Steve Marshall album is due for release in early 2025.
As a director and composer for dance theatre, Steve has developed music and soundtrack for extended narratives, and his work with choreographers has been performed in the UK, USA, Canada, Japan, and South Africa.
